Bakshi Ka Talab is an area situated at North side in city of Lucknow consisting of both residential and business settlements. It is one of the largest and upcoming areas of Lucknow. Bakshi Ka Talab is an organised settlement developed by Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).

The name of this town come from an ancient Talab ( water pond) that was constructed by Raja Tripur Chandra Bakshi in the year 1840, therefore this pond was called 'Bakshi ka Talab' ( Bakshi’s pond).They Made this Talab for security of people because at that time there were bhramin sena who attacked on people led by 'PT Jagannath Shukla'.
Raja Tripur Chand Bakshi was an erstwhile war co-ordinator of Nawab Amjad Ali Shah of Lucknow (Awadh) during the period 1842 to 1845. This beautiful ancient heritage structure have ghats on four sides of the pond and eight historical tombs. In addition, you may see two Krishna and Shiva temples situated on the ‘talab’ campus. Devotees come from far off areas to worship in these age old temples.
